Abstract:
Herein, we addressed the two major problems, one was poor braking and the other was short service-life of the conventional controller of the vacuum assisted brake system of electric vehicle running in a high altitude, low atmospheric pressure environment.A novel controller for the vacuum pump was developed, comprising a single chip microcomputer(STM8 S103), a built-in miniature relative atmospheric pressure sensor, a power supply, electronic circuits and self-developed software.The prototyped automatic controller was tested.The results show that the newly-developed controller was the total solution of the technical problems.To be specific, the highly reliable controller effectively lengthens the service life of the control unit of vacuum pump because it is capable of warning and protecting the vacuum pump under the abnormal working conditions, including but not limited to the under/over voltage, over-current and over-time operation.
