Abstract
To improve the corrosion resistance of 2024 aluminum alloy in Cl-flowing seawater, silicon-doped diamond-like carbon ( Si-DLC ) films were deposited on the surface of 2024 aluminum alloy by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition. The surface morphology and corrosion resistance of aluminum alloy and Si-DLC film scoured for different time in the flowing seawater environment were studied by scanning electron microscopy and electrochemical workstation, and the related corrosion mechanism was discussed. The results show that the aluminum alloy without deposition of Si-DLC has serious corrosion during the scouring process, while the sample deposited with Si-DLC film has no serious corrosion, and a small number of cracks have occurred in the film. At the same time, the silicon oxide protective aluminum alloy is formed. In this experiment, the corrosion resistance of 2024 aluminum alloy deposited with Si-DLC film is significantly better than that of 2024 aluminum alloy.
