Research Progress of High-Pressure Cryopreservation for Multiscale Living Materials

  • Cryopreservation technology can delay the metabolism of organisms and suppress the occurrence and progression of a series of biochemical reactions,which is a necessary means for long-term storage of many biological samples.In recent years,the successful application of cryopreservation technology has directly and effectively promoted the development and progress of cell,tissue,organ,medicine,food and other fields,creating remarkable economic and social benefits,but achieving efficient and healthy cryopreservation still remains many challenges.The non-contact physical pressure enhancement technology changes the phase transition behavior of water in term of the principle of thermodynamics and kinetics,it does not introduce any exogenous substances for biological samples,therefore it is expected to solve the current many critical problems existed in the field of cryopreservation.In this paper,two kinds of cryopreservation methods,high pressure freezing and constant volume freezing,were summarized from the aspect of basic principle,research progress,and future development trend,aiming to promote the development and progress of efficient,green,and economic cryopreservation technology.
