Abstract
Palladium oxide is recognized as one of the hydrogen getters with excellent performance. It is used for high vacuum multilayer insulation equipment to maintain the vacuum. In this paper,we study the relation between hydrogen absorption performance, adsorption rate, sorption capacity, and the final equilibrium pressure of the novel palladium oxide at different vacuum degrees by building an experimental platform. The results show that the optimal vacuum degree obtained is 0.016 Pa,the saturated sorption capacity is 197.238 ml(STP)/g,and the sorption coefficient is 60.473. 31 groups of hydrogen were added in the vacuum degree range of 1,10-1 and 10-2 Pa to observe the hydrogen absorption dynamics. The results show that the initial pressure is below 2.7 Pa,the hydrogen absorption dynamic curves show an "L" shape, and the final equilibrium pressure is better than 0.05 Pa. The hydrogen absorption efficiency of 24 groups exceeds 91%. The experimental results indicate that the adsorption type of hydrogen getter agrees with the Langmuir model, namely chemical adsorption. The experimental data also provides a reference for the application of this type of hydrogen getter in high vacuum multilayer equipment.
