Modeling and Balancing of Variable Pitch Screw Rotor Based on Actual Clearance and Boolean Operation

Abstract
The minimum clearance is calculated based on the theory of variable pitch rotor, and each face of the rotor is separately cut using the Boolean operation function of SolidWorks software.A 3 D model of variable pitch rotor with actual clearance is established.Based on this model, the rotor inlet and exhaust end faces and the rotor external round faces are reprocessed to eliminate the dynamic unbalance effect of the rotor in high-speed operation. For rotors with small lead resulting in thin teeth, the small round angle at the intersection of the concave surface and the tooth root surface is increased to the machined value of the equipment in the SolidWorks software to ensure that the clearance is reasonable, and rotors will not get stuck.
