Abstract
The orbit of the SMILE satellite is a highly elliptical orbit with a large inclination, which encounters various plasma environments. The charged state of the satellite surface affects the satellite's in-orbit safety and scientific detection tasks. In this paper, based on the finite element modeling, the charged characteristics of the orbit surface of SMILE satellite are simulated and evaluated by using SPIS(spacecraft plasma interaction system) software. The simulation results show that the surface charging potential of the satellite is different in different environments, but it will not affect the data acquisition of scientific load.By analyzing the charging current in various plasma environments,it is found that the secondary electron emission current and the photocurrent in the illumination region play a leading role in satellite surface charging. The resistance of indium tin oxide(ITO) will affect the potential of the satellite.
