The surfaces of Al-Cu-Mg duralumin alloy profile,an advanced construction material, were modified with the electroplated Ni and Ni/graphene-oxide(GO) coatings. The influence of the Ni and Ni/GO coatings on the microstructures and tribological behavior of the surface modified Al-Cu-Mg alloy was investigated with scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, electrochemical work station and conventional mechanical probes. The preliminary results show that the compact Ni and Ni/GO significantly improved the tribological properties and corrosion-resistance.To be specific, the Ni-coating increased the hardness by 1.43 times;when it comes to the hardness/corrosion-resistance/erosion-resistance/wear-resistance,a descending order existed:Ni/GO-coating>Ni-coating>Al-Cu-Mg alloy;and with regard to the Max and average friction coefficients,an ascending order appeared: Ni/GO-coating
