Abstract
The outgassing behavior, from interlayer walls in multilayered cryogenic container and exemplified with liquid nitrogen(LN2) stainless-steel tank, was mathematically formulated with Diffusion and Malev models, theoretically analyzed, numerically calculated with Matlab software and experimentally evaluated. The influence of the surface desorption and adsorption on the outgassing rate was investigated. The calculated results show that Malev model better predicts the realistic outgassing rate. For instance, thoroughly degassed at 100℃,cooled-down to and staying at 15℃ for 40 h,the outgassing-rate from interlayer walls in the LN2 tank was measured; and the relative discrepancy between the calculated and measured outgassing-rate was estimated to be 19.39%.We suggest that Malev model may better predict the realistic outgassing rate, especially in varying environment temperature, because it takes surface desorption and adsorption into consideration.
