Beam Shaping of 2 kW Diode Laser for 6303 Al-Alloy Welding: A Methodological Study

  • For aluminum alloy welding by diode laser,the diode laser beam was been shaped,to increased the beam quality.The beam brightness was 412.00 MW/cm2.sterad,which was 7 times higher than before been shaped.The been shaped diode laser was used of welding experiment for 6063 aluminum alloy with 1 mm thickness.Through orthogonal experiment with three factors of laser power,welding speed,defocusing amount,the maximum tensile strength of welds was 172.3 MPa,reached to 85% of base metal,tensile strength.Aluminum alloy welding by diode laser was realized.
