Abstract
Herein, we addressed the impedance matching of power supply and dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) tube with wide-gap and operating at high frequency. The inverse power supply provides a continuously adjustable full bridge square-wave in 20~40 k Hz range with a well-controlled pulse-width modulation (PWM) because the impedance match between the leaky inductance of the high frequency transformer and the equivalent capacitance of the discharge tube can be easily realized. The discharge behavior, including but not limited to the equivalent capacitance and equivalent resistance, was investigated by measuring Lissajous figures. The results show that in steady discharge, the load of DBD tube can be mathematically modeled with the equivalent capacitance and equivalent resistance connected in series. For example, as the discharge voltage increased, the equivalent capacitance increased; and as the discharge power increased, the equivalent resistance of the discharge load linearly increased.
